About the Tech Team

The tech team is the engine room of Adventus, responsible for the technical development, direction and alignment of our product by providing engineering best practices, development, release management and issue resolution so we can deliver world class experiences for students considering studying in higher education while delivering undeniable value and experience for our partners.

 

What we are looking for ?

We are looking for a senior level, full stack developer with a background in PHP Laravel, VueJS and AWS; someone with a keen interest in technologies and a GitHub profile to demonstrate it. Joining the Adventus team, you will play an integral role in shaping the delivery of our platforms migration over to a new technology stack and microservice architecture.

 

The Tech / What you will work with:

We certainly do not expect you to have experience in all of the technologies listed below. The key technologies we are looking for in this role are PHP / Laravel, VueJS and AWS experience.

 

• PHP (Laravel), Node.js
• JavaScript, TypeScript
• VueJS, Composition API
• HTML5, CSS, SASS, LESS, Gulp, Grunt
• Microservices Architecture
• RESTful and Apollo GraphQL
• AWS services such as IAM, EC2, ECS, API Gateway, CloudWatch, Lambda, SNS, SQS, Elasticsearch etc

• Docker, Kubernetes
• MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB (Atlas), Redis
• Unit Testing, TDD, BDD
• Git, Bitbucket, GitHub
• Agile, JIRA

 

It would be great to bring, but is not required to have:

• A computer science or engineering-related degree
• Experience with NoSQL databases like DynamoDB

 

About you

• Minimum 4+ years of working experience in a technical hands on software engineering role, with some proven leadership, coaching or mentoring experience
• Experience developing high volume distributed systems, and using event driven architectures
• Passionate and always eager to help drive the engineering rhythm and process of the team from planning, design, scripting, deployment, and support
• Frequent software development meetups/workshops to stay on top of the latest trends and technologies
• Dedicated to continuously improve and develop your strengths & talents
• Possess excellent time management and written/oral communication skills
• Solid interpersonal skills with the ability to establish a good rapport with business stakeholders
• Thrive on solving complex problems with simple solutions
• You have a passion for all things “Full Stack”
